Location and History

Across the road from the lake and far enough from the city center to avoid traffic, yet close enough to reach it on foot (the No. 4 tram stop is two blocks away), this hotel is a vibrant traditional midrange business hotel that follows more closely in the footsteps of the superior Hotel Schweizerhof than the modern Steigenberger Bellerive au Lac a half-block to the south.

It feels as if John Cleese could be the manager at this well-meaning minipalace hotel, a pragmatic period take on the exemplary Baur au Lac, which resides two full steps up in the ranks.
