Location and History
Angkor Wat's earliest sightseers stayed at the Grand Hotel d'Angkor. They climbed onto elephants' backs from the hotel's raised veranda for the journey through the jungle to the fabled temples of Angkor.
This 1932 structure has all the modern conveniences of its competitors, but it has what others don't have; colonial mystique. With its sister property in Phnom Penh, this is one of just two hotels in the country to pre-date the civil war and Khmer Rouge era. It continues to delight guests with its heritage architecture, comfortable luxury and flawless service.
