Reykjavik Natura Hotel

Location and History

In a nationally protected building of vintage turquoise blue glass, 20 minutes on foot or a short drive from the center of town, this hotel is opposite the Reykjavik domestic airport. The city bus stops near the hotel for an affordable ride into town.

Originally built by the national carrier to support its tourism efforts, the building has small rooms designed for groups. The airline often housed their transiting overnight passengers here, and this is often where Icelandair puts passengers with canceled flights still today.
