Location and History

In what was one of the most long-awaited hotel openings (it took six years to rework the building), the Bulgari brings a new tier of luxury to town that eschews gold-framed mirrors and brocaded drapery in favor of a sleek elegance.

Its affiliation with Marriott is only on the reservation side with it not participating in the loyalty program. This means only well-heeled Americans dare set foot inside. The guest list is almost exclusively celebrities, corporate bigwigs, Middle Eastern shoppers and couples wanting to splurge.
