Location and History
Located in the South Beach Historic District, at Collins Avenue and 19th Street, next to the Hotel Greystone, one block away from the Miami Beach Convention Center, a five-minute stroll to the park and The Bass Museum, this is yet another period icon restored at great expense. Designed by Russell Pancoast, in 1934—he also designed the Surf Club and charming Church by the Sea—its mix of sexy curves and 90-degree angles is an eye catcher.
The property was commandeered by the Army during the latter part of WWII, then rode successfully through the 1950s through the 1980s until it fell into disrepair.
