Location and History

Facing Kensington Gardens, five blocks east of the High Street Kensington tube station, this glossy four-star boutique-hotel is an Italian version of the more traditionally English Milestone one block away, swankier and sexier than its prim and proper neighbor.

It touts itself as being "for people who appreciate art and culture." It certainly does appeal to those interested in Italian lifestyle and design. This privately-owned high-end Italian hotel group has imported nearly everything from its native land, including the angular furniture, espresso machines in each room (the coffee, too), and the dolce vita and modern art, although, as with most London hotels, the staff is more likely to have come from Eastern Europe.
