Location and History
Forsaking the animated artifice ubiquitous at Disney, this florid late-19th-century belle commands 40 acres and a powder-sand beach by the lake. (Note that swimming is not permitted.) Once Disney's grandest hotel, time has taken its toll here, though updates are planned in keeping with the rejuvenation of numerous Disney properties. Its spa and health center ensure everyone is pampered.
Prices here are high—higher, in fact, than most of the accommodations at the original Coronado Hotel, the palace of hospitality south of San Diego that this hotel was designed to mimic.
