Overview

Location and History

This venerable historic hotel boasts a privileged location within Brazilian Iguazu national park, offering spectacular views of Iguazu Falls. It is the only hotel inside the park.

The iconic, so-called Pink Palace dates to the late 1950s when the president of Brazil inaugurated its grand opening in 1958 as Hotel de Cataratas. It has been serving distinguished travelers ever since, though in later years its luster was wearing off. In the early 2000s Belmond took over and did a thorough renovation, carefully restoring the hotel to its former 1950s grandeur and re-opening in 2009.
