Location and History
This bold, eclectic Italian Renaissance-style structure was constructed in 1894 to house the New York Insurance Company, but it is best known for its cafe—The New York Cafe—once the social nexus of the city. It is a local landmark on Budapest's Grand Ring. Some of that social cache remains, although today it is mostly visited by tourists.
For many years, the hotel operated as a Boscolo before getting snatched up as a prize by Anantara catapulting it up in the ranks.
