Location and History
Located on the historic and quirky Ponce de Leon Avenue in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, this recently restored motor lodge turned boutique hotel has quite a storied past. Originally built as The Garner-Wallace Hotel, it first opened its doors to the public in 1929. Its grandeur was short-lived in the wake of the Great Depression, but eventually found new life in the 1930s as the Hotel Ponce de Leon.
By the 1960s, it was known for its restaurant Mrs. P's Tea Room, a beloved lunchtime spot for nearby workers.
