The MSC Divina cruise ship played a prominent role as
backdrop in an episode of a new series that debuted on Amazon Prime.
The show, "The Romanoffs," features eight separate
stories about people who believe themselves to be descendants of the Russian
royal family.
The Divina appears in the second installment titled, "The
Royal We," which premiered Friday, Oct. 12 on Prime Video. In the episode,
a couple with their marriage in a rut "find their own temptations,"
MSC Cruises said.
Scenes were shot over the course of three days during a sailing
on the Divina and included key areas of the ship such as the main atrium with
Swarovski crystal staircases, the outdoor infinity-style Garden Pool and the
exclusive MSC Yacht Club.
To avoid disrupting guests, many of the scenes were filmed
in the middle of the night or at sunrise, MSC said.
Meanwhile, the MSC Meraviglia will be featured on "Mighty
Ships" on Sunday, Oct. 21 on the Smithsonian Channel.
The show, in its ninth season, provides a behind-the-scenes
look at what life is like aboard sophisticated vessels that move colossal cargo
or bring power to entire villages.
The Meraviglia was featured as it began its inaugural season
in the Mediterranean -- immediately after leaving the shipyard and being
christened.
