MSC Cruises launched its first cruise to Cuba from the U.S. on Dec. 10 aboard the MSC Armonia.

The Armonia will sail seven-night Caribbean itineraries year-round departing from Miami and calling at Montego Bay, Jamaica; Georgetown, Cayman Islands; and Cozumel, Mexico, before arriving in Havana on Saturdays and staying in the Cuban capital overnight.

MSC has made a variety of onboard enhancements to the Armonia, including new dining and entertainment concepts and features that pay homage to Cuba. The ship's White Lion Pub will feature a new and complimentary menu with items such as a Cuban sandwich and a mojo chicken quesadilla, and a bar will serve a variety of custom-made mojitos.

On its Saturday evening overnight in Havana, the Armonia will host local musicians while in port.

MSC has previously served Cuba roundtrip from Havana as well as from other Caribbean islands, but the cruises have not been marketed to U.S. residents.

"We are thrilled to be enhancing the opportunities for guests sailing from North America to explore the Caribbean in new ways," said Roberto Fusaro, president of MSC Cruises USA.
