Aqua Expeditions, which operates luxury cruises on the Peruvian Amazon and Mekong rivers, has received a $28 million capital investment that will enable it to increase its fleet by 150% and add new destinations over the next two years, the company said.
In a statement Nov. 13, CEO Francesco Galli Zugaro said the company would use the investment by private-equity firm Bison Capital to add coastal cruising in "soft adventure destinations," but he did not specify where.
The company said more details will be released later this month.
Aqua operates small luxury ships that offer safari-like excursions focused on jungles, wildlife and local cultures.
